Covid-19

Dear Club Members,

We hope you are all keeping well and have stayed well throughout this Covid time.

Subject to final government approval that behind closed doors/indoor sport can return to activity during phase 3 we are happy to inform you that we intend on re-opening the club for on 29/06/2020. The club will only be able to open 'subject to final government activation of phase 3 and confirmation that behind closed doors/indoor sport can proceed as part of phase 3'.

We have taken this decision after completing the Gymnastics Ireland (GI) Return to Sport (RTS) education, risk assessment & compliance process that has been conducted behind the scenes since the start of June. Through this GI led process we have developed a thorough club plan for operating in a  covid-19 environment in line with the government ‘Roadmap to Reopening Society & Business’ (targeting Phases 3+ for indoor sport) in addition to the ‘Return to Work Safely’ protocol.

In completing the GI RTS process and declaring our compliance we have taken the following key steps to ensure the safety of their members...

  • Appointed a staff member to act as Club Covid Lead – Elena Romanova (ph:085 7466875)
  • Attended the Gymnastics Ireland RTS Education & Compliance Webinar
  • Completed a detailed club risk assessment and mitigation plan
  • Adjusted the club setting to cater for social distancing
  • Designated an 'isolation area' and process for dealing with any suspected cases
  • Conducted induction training for all club staff
  • Developed an enhanced club cleaning programme

Please see further information on how the club will operate when we re-open…

We are following the protocols set by Gymnastics Ireland and approved by Sports Ireland, however these procedures may change and if so we will keep you informed.

We will open on a phased step by step approach and will operate in smaller groups at staggered times to allow for a one way system to operate in the Gym.

Everyone will not start back from this date.

We will be running Pay As You Go classes starting with 2 classes per day for now.  These classes will run from Monday to Friday (see our timetable). There will be no Summer Camps .

We hope to run more but for now, you must

·         prebook only these classes 3 days in advance by texting on phone number 085 7466875 and payment in an envelope with child’s name and contact phone number on it.

Booking is essential as you will not be permitted to enter club and we would not like to disappoint any child.

Can we ask that you follow the guidelines below:

  1. Children come prepared to the Gym, no changing is accommodated apart from taking off jumpers and runners.
  2. Each child must bring their own Water Bottle with their name clearly marked.  No sharing of bottles will be permitted.
  3. Hair neatly tide out of their faces.
  4. Parents will drop children at the entrance to Gym 1 and their waiting coach will bring them into the reception area. They will sanitise their hands and will be socially distanced and advised to maintain the same distance.
  5. We will operate a one way system through the gym and the Gymnasts will leave through the exit door Gym 2.
  6. There will be several saintiser throughout the gym,
  7. Parents are asked not to enter the gym and to arrive no earlier than 5 mins before class and return no sooner than 5 mins before end of class.

b.    a cough - this can be any kind of cough, not just dry.

c.    shortness of breath or breathing difficulties.

Ensure that parents and children are fully aware of all symptoms of COVID-19. The most common signs and symptoms of COVID-19 are available on the HSE website

We will keep you informed with any updates and you will be contacted about when we expect to be able to offer term classes to your child.

We would ask that you please explain to your child that they will have to maintain social distancing while in class.  We will do everything we can to assist each child to develop and learn while having fun throughout the class.

With regards to fees paid in March, the last active term, we have to make up 3 weeks of Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday Classes, 4 weeks of Friday/Saturday/Sunday Classes.

There will be no charge for the first one (two) week(s) of the Term 1 and the first two weeks of the Term 2 to compensate for the classes missed in March.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

We look forward to welcoming you all back to Leader Gymnastic Club.

Kind regards,

Leader Gymnastic Club
